Desigual (Spanish: [desiˈɣwal], Catalan: [dəziˈɣwal]; meaning "unequal, uneven") is a clothing brand headquartered in Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain. Its designs are characterized by colorful patchwork, intense prints, graffiti art, asymmetry, and bright colors. Founded in 1984 by Swiss businessman Thomas Meyer on the island of Ibiza, Desigual was managed by Manel Adell from 2002 until December 2013.

A customer shares her upsetting experience on Influenster, "Don't buy Desigual online, packages get lost and they have a very sloppy costumer service. I am waiting for more than 1 month for a skirt that I never received and that I paid more than $100..they ignore all my complaints. I had the same issue with Mango or Free People and they fixed the solution by refunding or sending me the purchase again right away. Be very careful! I will not buy their products anymore."

"La situazione più soddisfacente è l'uscita dal negozio, quando non devi stare anche la notte ad allestire dopo le tue 12 ore lavorate. Le persone a cui ti rivolgi (Area Manager/Hr Manager o personale degli uffici di sede centrale) per aiutarti a risolvere i problemi che non puoi tu da solo materialmente gestire,sono le stesse persone che ti rimbalzano al telefono, facendo a scarica barile delle responsabilità, in conclusione, il problema ti rimane e sei anche rimproverato perché non sei riuscito a risolverlo. Stipendi tra i più bassi del retail giustificati dalle commissioni orarie come benefit. Vita privata sacrificata perché c'è la richiesta giornaliera di over time last minute per mancanza di personale (piuttosto che assumere) che non puoi rifiutare di fare e che non recupererai mai. Wir reduzieren den Wert unser Fähigkeit auf die schlechte Umwelt, z.B Verleumdung, Diskriminierung, Mobbing und Beeinträchtigte Interaktion. "Unrealistic expectations. That $700 coat on the rack just had all it's buttons fall off and I had to have someone sit in the store and sew them on. Clothing falls apart after you wash it. Management from Spain treats us like we are below them. Was promised advancement when I took the job. After time went by I asked about advancement and they took that as if I didn't like my job and started treating me differently."

"No se puede trabajar tranquila en esa tienda por culpa de la persona que está al cargo, nunca sabes por donde te va a venir, habla mal de todo el equipo y lo hace delante de clientes o de otras compañeras, es maleducada y no tiene respeto por nadie. No da ejemplo de las tareas y cosas que hay que hacer. Nunca tiene la culpa y siempre es de las demás. La tienda está en un centro Comercial abierto a pie de calle y es capaz de hablar mal de sus empleadas con el resto de tiendas que hay en el centro Comercial. Las empleadas trabajan intranquilas y agobiadas por el mal ambiente que esta persona crea. En vez de solucionar problemas y quitarle importancia lo que hace es crear más problemas y meter más cizaña. Trabajar en esa tienda es tener horarios mal planificados entre un dia y otro, hacer horas extras y que no te las paguen, si te dicen que te las devuelven en horas libres, o te las devuelven de manera que a ti no te soluciona nada o te dice que no te las puede devolver por situación de la empresa, si vive alguien fuera de la ciudad, es capaz de llamarla con media hora de antelación y decirle que la necesita en la tienda para cubrir por ejemplo la hora del descanso o porque se quiere ir a comprar o hacer otras cosas fuera de tienda. Es hacer tareas que no te pertenecen y no te quejes que encima habla pestes de ti. Te pones a hacer una tarea que te ha mandado y luego más tarde te dice que hagas otra, te marea con varias tareas, nunca acabas de hacer nada y de esa manera parece que no trabajas, porque te cuesta acabarlas. "Horarios súper mal planeados,después de entrar por la tarde al día siguiente te hacen venir de mañana. Cuando preguntas por tu contrato o sueldo núnca saben nada,luego te dan 1 día libre nada más a la semana y eso que la encargada siempre descansa 2 y lógicamente el finde. "I HONESTLY must say, I am Totally disappointed. After working one year in DESIGUAL, LEIPZIGER PLATZ, MALL OF BERLIN, I had enough, luckily my contract came to end, what a relief!! Things aren´t working right in that shop, there is no communication, everybody wants to command, you are given tasks continually by different people who don´t care if someone else gave you already a task. We are not positively motivated but the opposite. There are only rules for some. Colleagues are treated differently and some are given extra privileges, the ones who don´t fit are mobbed. As a simple sales assistant it is very important to get on well with the right people within the company, more experienced colleagues who do what they want all the time except working, the visual and the store manager. Get on well with them if you want to succeed and in no time you will get a higher position. Don´t talk to the colleagues the IMPORTANT people don´t like, or your name might fill in the black list as well. There is a really bad environment in this shop among colleagues, some talk really bad about some colleagues and try to boycott them. Don´t be different or you will be mobbed, some colleagues were fired because they were different, according to the manager. " some did not fit within the company and one or two colleagues complained about the person occasionally." That´s it, no clear reason. "Filthy. MICRO-MANAGEMENT BEYOND!!! Nothing is correct, they change things every day. Operationally nothing works in stores. POS System fails daily. They expect you to work later than your shift to prove you can do your job. There’s bug infestation. Theres no sanitation you have to manually do it. The bug infestation and sanitation issue is where the break room is. None of the nyc locations have had appropriate store managers for months. There’s no PR done right, nothing for marketing. There are no security guards so items are robbed weekly. The CEO listed here is not the current although the current gets a horrible rating as well since all operation issues come from upper management. Members that are of African American descent feel that they are discriminated...... Desiree is a nightmare so beware. I worked for years until she came on board changing everything with nonsense and micromanaging EVERYTHING YOU DO INCLUDING BREATHING"

"Speaking as a sales associate for Desigual soHo, this is the most unprofessional and unsanitary store I have ever worked at, all types of bugs and insects in stock room including bed bugs,roaches,waterbugs and spiders. The higher up’s used to bring all sorts of food to the stock room(same room where all the clothes is kept) and have little meetings within themselves and leave all the lefts overs and crumbs on the table for weeks, they once left left-over donuts on the table with all the mess that was made and nobody bothered to throw it out but me after a month. District manager is pretty much an air head who doesn’t know how to do her job to well, terribly lazy and very unprofessional, forces employees to follow customers around the store and force them to buy stuff wether they want to or not literally. The key holders except for mayja have disgusting attitudes and will make you do all the work plus theirs, than go behind the register and be on their phone ... called out sick one time due to getting sick from the district manager having the door open in 45 degree weather to get people to come in and buy and not thinkin much about the employees complaining that is too cold and was never scheduled to work again, asked her if I still worked their and was told I was removed from the roster even though the last time I went to pick up my uniform she told me I would get it my next shift(that was never scheduled)"

Sales staff received positive performance appraisals and didn't receive their raises.) -Lack of benefits(No 401k, No holiday pay, No time & a half on holidays) -Vacation(Offered 3 weeks vacation a year, BUT they make it nearly impossible for you to take it--many black out periods that aren't even mentioned. And they will not pay you out either)"

"Desigual is a fraude. I made an online purchase in November 2020 which I never received. Desigual confirmed they have my order and would refund me. It\'s end of January 2021 and I never got my refund! I want my money back!"

"I have purchased three items online on 04/01/21 and paid 166£ by creditcard. The status of my order is 'preparation' when I check by order confirmation email, but when I check it by my desigual account, it is "delivered".I have sent several request to have an update on my order but no reply. 9 days after payment on 13/Jan I have received an email from ups with a tracking number. The tracking since then stuck on " lable is created". I always do online shopping and never have had such experience. Why the company receive the money but is not responsible to the customers? Time is important for everyone. Why I should pay 166£ and then spend several hours thinking and sending email try to contact desigual to ask about my order? On 18th Jan I have reciwved an email from UPS saying the oarcel is sent back to Almacen warehiuse. I have contacted UPS,they said the label might have been wrong or other problems is not clear but the parcel sent back to company and I should contact desigual. I phoned desigual costumer sevice exoained the problem. They said will send me an email to confirm that it will be refunded, but no opology. I have not recieved any email. I have contacted again. But no clear answer!"

"I made an order on 7th January and right away I received a confirmation email, then for the following week the order status on the website was stuck at 'Preparing' and I was ok with the delay, I didn't expect a fast delivery right after the holidays. Finally the status changed to shipped (and I didn't get any UPS confirmation that they received anything) and a day later I received a cancelation email...in Spanish while I ordered from the Canadian site..so I needed to translate the email to understand what went wrong. Current situation is that I've no order, no refund, and the site insists that the order has been shipped. Super disappointed and Definitely the last experience with that shop."

"What is going on with Desigual? I ordered a coat two weeks ago. First UPS advised they were delivering, which was not true. UPS never deliver when they say anyway, so goodness knows why Desigual use them. Desigual did respond to my contact saying they had technical issues and that's why the item showed it was delivered when it wasn't. My account still shows the coat has been delivered which it hasn't. I am now trying to find out if the coat has been shipped after two weeks - and the online form shows a captcha error so it's impossible to contact them. I'm wondering if I now have to start a Section 75 claim on my credit card - are they likely to go out of business?"

"I ordered something, received an confirmation email and thereafter another email confirming that my order had been send. A day later I received an email that my order had been “modified” meaning cancelled. That was frustrating enough already but later I discovered that they only refunded me £35.45 instead of £41.75 which is the total amount I had paid. This is almost 3 weeks ago. I have contacted them twice via email but haven’t had any reply!"

"I had been a faithful customer up until recently. I placed an order for collection at a local UK UPS collection point. They sent no notification of delivery and I assumed delivery was delayed to due the pandemic and busy Christmas period. I then got an email saying my order was refunded. I contacted to ask about this and what had happened. After much chasing and vague responses, they told me it was returned to warehouse and closed my customer service case. They then emailed me to say I could collect from UPS collection point...in Spain and closed my case, again!!! I asked for further information, only to eventually be told it was held at a UPS collection point in Dartford (not the one I selected and nowhere near me) and was returned as it was not collected. My own investigation with UPS showed it was delivered to my UK collection point and then sent back, with no delivery notifications sent to me at all. Avoid at all cost, their customer service have gone downhill. I appreciate times are tough, but they should still show their customers respect and have the decency to properly answer queries, resolve issues and offer appropriate apologies. I have asked, yet again why no delivery notifications were sent but doubt they will give me an acceptable response, if at all."

"Ordered a dress for my wife on 15th Dec for Christmas. Promised delivery in 3-7 working days. By the 12th January, I had contacted Desigual 3 times. They eventually replied on Jan 5th saying contact UPS, which I had already done several times. On 11th Jan, UPS eventually said the shipment was lost and that they had closed the investigation. They had apparently already informed Desigual, though Desigual had not bothered to contact me about it. I recontacted Desigual but received no reply or apology. Eventually on Jan 18th they refunded me the £124 though again no formal apology. While their clothes are very nice I certainly won't be ordering online from them again as this was a very unpleasant experience."

"In one word ‘horrible’ I’ve been a faithful regular customer for years but lately quality and customer service is so bad that I’m don’t think I will buy much from them going forward. They sent promotion codes which you can’t add to the shopping basket, they don’t respond when you challenge them back as they give non sense trouble shooting, which doesn’t provide solutions and at some point they stop responding without giving an answer!! My latest order was an ordeal with vouchers not applied and then when I received the trousers which suppose to be in a nice bright yellow and green colour something like coming out from a second hand shop arrived, the colour had no resemblance with the online picture it was a dirty brown mushy green... I can keep going on forever but they didn’t even bother to respond to my several complaints about the order, the voucher or the quality so I had enough and sent the trousers back, at £100 tag mark I will expect something better. Don’t expect any customer service or whatsoever from them!!!"

"This company sucks. I have done business thru their retail outlets where service has been good, but this year they closed the one near me and I tried to order online...BIG MISTAKE. I placed my order on 12/17 so I could get it for Christmas. 4 days after ordering I began getting emails from someone purporting to be Desigual, asking for copies of bank statements, utility bills and pictures of my credit card in order to complete my order. When I called the "customer service" number on the website, it was disconnected. No one in a physical store could help me. And then on Dec 23, I got an email that my order was cancelled. Meanwhile I placed about 10 other orders with US companies using the same card and had ZERO issues. This company sucks...awful service. STAY AWAY!!!"

"UPS have lost my parcel which was ordered 4 weeks ago. Both UPS and Desigual not answering my emails, no parcel , no refund just frustration. Why is Desigual using UPS when they consistently don't deliver. I love the clothes but I will never buy from the website again...wish I had used amazon!"

"I ordered an item and chose a drop off point from their delivery options. When the item had not been received I was told by the customer service 'chat' that UPS could not find the shop so it could not be delivered. I was asked by desigual for my home address and I was told that it would be delivered. I never received the package and when I contacted the seller again they basically told me it was my fault and i would need to order and pay for the item again. I told them that this was not acceptable as it was no fault of my own and I simply wanted my order fulfilled. The person on the chat, Ana, was very rude and told me to start another chat with someone else. I asked for a manager to contact me about the issue and she said that their phone line has been disconnected! I asked again to be transferred to another person who was better placed to deal with my issue, she typed 'sure' and then disconnected the chat. Absolutely disgusted with this company, I never write negative reviews but have been so appauled that in this case I felt I needed to. I have not yet had any refund either from the undelivered and therefore returned item. Please be warned - I will never order from here again."

"It has now been 3 weeks since I first wrote to Desigual about a missing item from my package. They have now replied saying they have passed the responsibility onto UPS to explain why one item is missing!!! I There has been no offer of sending me the Christmas present I purchased or any refund. Customer service is appalling. This will be the last time I purchase from Desigual unless the problem is resolved in next 7 days. Such a shame as I love their clothing and bags and until now I've never had a problem :("

"Ordered from them - item not received - online chats have resulted in no action - have emailed and been issued with a case number- no explanation as to what’s happened to my item. They took my money when I ordered - most companies do this on despatch. Customer service appalling I will never order from them again. I ordered a couple of coats in the smallest size they had (S) and a lighter jacket in a size 8 and when I tried them on they drowned me. They looked more like a UK size 12. Desigual clothing is not designed for the petite! Ordering and shipping was fine."
